The Collaboration - full task type provides a formal process for delegating a task to a partner, allowing them to formally respond with deliverables or evidence of completion when they have completed the task. If the partner is performing a computer-based task, you might ask them to send you documents. If they are performing a non-computer task, you could ask them to send you photographs of the finished work, for example.
In most cases, Collaboration - full is overkill, and Collaboration - simple or Send would be more suitable, especially if you are sending tasks to people who are not familiar with Relay. However, it is useful to understand the Collaboration - full process because the other task types are a subset of the full process.
The full process involves actions for the task owner and the partner. In the simple case:
Owner:
- Set task details.
- Set Dates.
- Set Reminders if required.
- Write instructions for the partner. See Instructions and response.
- Assign the task to the partner.
- Send the task to the partner.
Partner:
- View the instructions. See Instructions and response.
- Accept the task. See Accept, decline and refer.
- Start task.
- Perform the task.
- Edit the response. See Instructions and response.
- Submit task.
Owner:
- View the response. See Instructions and response.
- Validate the response, which will complete the task.
