Task types

Relay supports different types of task for different purposes and collaboration needs. There are eight standard task types.

Task

The basic task type, ideal for personal task management.

  • Task can be shared, but not delegated.
  • If managing work for other, can record who is working on the task.
Collaboration - full

Provides a formal process for task delegation and execution.

  • Requires partner to accept or decline the task.
  • Partner indicates when work starts and formally submits the response.
  • Supports text and file responses.
Collaboration - simple

Enables task delegation with simplified response.

  • Supports text and file responses.
  • Simplified accept, start and submission.
Send

Enables task delegation, but requires acknowledgement rather than a text and file response.

  • Acknowledge receipt, optionally with confirmation and name/job position entry.
  • Simplified accept, start and submission process.
Group chat

Enables shared chat conversations between multiple parties.

Share

Enables sharing of text and/or files between multiple parties.

  • Optional shared updating of text and files.
