Chat is used to collaborate between process owners and partners. It is used with Share to involve other people in a task. Chat can also be used in an unshared task to record notes and files.
Open chat using the Chat option on the tasks' context menu, or the Chat link in the Messages section of the Task details page.
Chat shows events associated with the task plus chat messages entered by the users.
The top of the chat shows who the chat is shared with, in addition to the task owner.
The body of the chat shows all the messages and events.
Use the text area and files area to enter messages and/or upload files. Use Send to send the message.
Any chat participant can add messages or upload files. Participants are notified of new events and chat messages by email. If they are currently in the chat, the chat updates automatically as new messages are added.
Chat is set to read only when the task is complete or cancelled.
The More menu provides a Save draft option to save your message and uploaded files without sending them. They will be restored when you next enter chat for the same task. The Smart paste option pastes the clipboard to the chat. If you hover over a chat message, you will see a copy icon next to each message. If you click on the copy icon, you can use smart paste to paste the message and associated files into another chat. This attaches files to your message without downloading and uploading them, which can be useful for large file.
Use < Back to leave chat.
