Data protection

You may want to know more details of the delete process for data protection purposes.

When your account is deleted, all sign ins to your account are immediately deactivated.

You account's data is checked for dependencies and deleted over a period of potentially a few days as dependencies are unravelled. Some data may be retained to avoid impacts on other accounts. If you have for example created a module that others have installed, some information about that module may be retained to prevent data loss in other accounts.

Data carries audit information about who created and deleted the data. Records of these users will be retained to preserve this audit information, though the user sign ins will be unusable. Once the data is deleted, then the user records will also be deleted.

Deleting your account will not delete data and tasks that you have sent to other accounts, including files that you have sent to them. This data is considered owned by the other account and is not deleted when your account is deleted.

You should recall all outstanding tasks before deleting your account. This will not remove data you have sent, but will prevent errors when they attempt to use those tasks.

Uploaded files are considered candidates for deletion when they are no longer referenced by other data. Once they are ready for deletion, the delete process occurs over the course of a few days as cached files are aged out of the system. Cloud-based file storage is retained in a deleted state for a time, typically 60 days, after which it is permanently deleted.

Data may be retained in system backups after your account is deleted, as part of our normal operational processes.
