Before you use Relay, you need to have an account.
If your business already has an organisation account, you will need to ask your administrator to set up a user sign in for you. See Users and user groups for details of setting up a new user and giving them appropriate permissions.
You may have received an invitation to use Relay from an existing user. Instructions for creating and responding to the invitations are given in Connection requests.
If a service provider lets you create your own account, they will provide you with a sign up URL. For the RelayWorkSmart.com service, the URL is https://www.relayworksmart.com/accounts/account_templates/relay_account?method=execute&action=signUp
When you use the sign up URL, you will be shown a sign up screen.

If you are creating an individual account just for you:
- Set Account name to your name.
- Provide your email address.
- Choose an account reference, which will also be your user id. It may contain only letters, numbers and underscores, and must start with a letter or underscore.
- Choose a password, and make a secure note of it.
If you are creating an organisation account for your business:
- Set Account name to the name of the organisation.
- Provide an email address to which account administration emails should be sent. If you're not sure, enter your own email address - you can change it later.
- Choose an account reference based on your organisation name. This will be used as a user id for account administration, but will not be used by notmal users. It may contain only letters, numbers and underscores, and must start with a letter or underscore.
- Choose a password, and make a secure note of it.
If you are not sure and are just trying out Relay, you can create an individual account for now. Later, Relay support can change your individual account to an organisation account.
Use Create account to create an account.
You will be shown a holding page while the account is created (this usually takes about one minute), and after you will be taken straight into Relay. See Relay screen layout for an explanation of the Relay screen.
If you have created an organisation account, you will need to set up users and user groups so that non-administrative user can sign in. See Users and user groups for instructions.
